Here’s your latest ecosystem update from Zero Authority.
🗳️ CAB Groups Begin Reviewing PoX-5
One of the most important governance conversations in the history of the Stacks ecosystem is officially underway.
The PoX-5 draft proposal is now open for community discussion as CAB groups begin their review and voting process. The proposal represents the next major evolution of Bitcoin Staking and the long-term alignment of the Stacks economy.
Community participation remains one of the most important parts of governance. If you have thoughts, questions, or feedback, now is the time to jump into the discussion.

🌐 Three Big Stories Across the Stacks Ecosystem
1. Institutional Bitcoin DeFi Opens with Fireblocks Integration 🔐
Institutional access to Bitcoin DeFi took a significant step forward as Stacks officially went live on Fireblocks.
The integration provides institutions with custody-grade infrastructure and opens the door for institutional participation in Bitcoin Staking. Shortly afterward, UTXO Management became the first institutional participant in Bitcoin Staking on Stacks, marking an important milestone for adoption.
The ecosystem followed this with a Stacks × Fireblocks webinar focused on unlocking institutional Bitcoin yield opportunities.
2. Two SIPs Enter Community Voting on July 6 🗳️
Governance activity continues to accelerate.
A combined community vote covering two SIPs opens on July 6, following the publication of the first Bitcoin Staking proposal earlier this summer.
This is also particularly exciting for the growing governance tooling ecosystem, with new guidance and workflows continuing to improve participation and transparency for CAB members and community reviewers alike.
3. Treasury Updates and Grant Decisions Arrive 💰
The Stacks Treasury Committee recently completed its Q2 2026 meeting and published a comprehensive community update covering treasury performance, market conditions, ecosystem priorities, and future funding initiatives.
Meanwhile, grant decisions across categories including DeFi, RWAs, Agentic Applications, and Privacy are being finalized, with new announcements expected throughout July.

🟠 Three Big Stories Across the Bitcoin Ecosystem
1. Institutional Bitcoin Adoption Continues to Expand
Public companies, institutions, asset managers, and sovereign entities continue increasing their Bitcoin exposure as treasury strategies evolve globally.
Bitcoin is increasingly being viewed not simply as a speculative asset, but as long-term digital capital infrastructure.
2. Bitcoin Layer 2 Growth Accelerates
Bitcoin Layer 2 ecosystems continue maturing rapidly.
Developers are building new infrastructure around scaling, smart contracts, payments, identity, and decentralized finance, creating an entirely new design space for Bitcoin-native applications.
3. AI and Bitcoin Are Beginning to Converge
One of the most interesting trends emerging in 2026 is the intersection of AI agents and Bitcoin infrastructure.
From autonomous coordination systems and decentralized marketplaces to machine-to-machine payments and identity layers, Bitcoin increasingly looks positioned to become the settlement layer for an agent-driven internet economy.
💰 Community Grants Are Open
If you’re building on Bitcoin, funding opportunities are available.
The latest treasury committee update provides insight into ecosystem priorities and where capital is being deployed to support long-term growth.
Applications are now open for Community DeGrants Cohort 4.
If you’re building products, infrastructure, educational initiatives, research, community programs, or open-source tooling, we’d love to see what you’re working on.
